From Cozumel, visit the beautiful ruins of Tulum led by our local LDS guides. Enjoy a day at the beach or try riding a zipline through the jungle in Roatan. In Belize, we offer an exciting river boat ride through the jungle to see the magnificent ruins at Lamanai. Tour the peaceful site of Chacchoben in Costa Maya again led by our local LDS guides. Shore Excursions
Tulum Ruins: Tulum overlooks the ocean and is one of the most
picturesque sites of the Yucatan. Here a local LDS guide will teach us
about the site and its relationship to the Book of Mormon peoples. Click here to see a full description of this tour.
Lamanai Ruins: This side-tour will allow you to see the beautiful site of Lamanai (a Book of Mormon time period site). Your guide will take you down the New River on a 45 minute jungle journey. This scenic ride will take you to one of the largest Maya sites in Belize. Here your guide will instruct you on the culture, rites, and archaeology of the Maya people. Headliners
Victor L. Ludlow is a scholar of Isaiah and Judaism. He graduated with high
honors from BYU and was a Danforth Fellow at Harvard and Brandeis Universities,
where he received a Ph.D. in Near Eastern and Judaic Studies. Professor Ludlow's
scholarship explores the areas of Bible studies, the Middle East, Jewish
history, and theology, and comparative Latter-day Saint theology. He has
authored numerous articles and the books: Unlocking the Old Testament;
Isaiah:Prophet, Seer, and Poet; Principles and Practices of the Restored Gospel;
and Unlocking Isaiah in the Book of Mormon. His most recent audio lecture is
"Latter-day Insights: The Middle East."
